4. EDUCATIONAL DELIVERY FORMAT
All IBBFA certification programs and registry maintenance requirements are delivered as live, instructor-led educational services. Specifically:
- All programs include scheduled live webinars conducted in real time by IBBFA-certified Master Instructors or faculty. Participants may interact with instructors and other participants contemporaneously during each session.
- Practical examinations are conducted live and evaluated in real time by an IBBFA Master Instructor or an IBBFA Proctor.
- Written certification examinations are reviewed and graded manually by an IBBFA Master Instructor or an IBBFA Proctor. No automated or computer-graded scoring is used in any IBBFA certification examination.
Annual Registry Maintenance ($99/year) requires completion of one of the following continuing professional development obligations within the registry year:
(a) Attendance at two (2) live IBBFA instructor development webinars, or
(b) Attendance at one (1) live IBBFA instructor development webinar plus successful completion of a written competency assessment administered through the IBBFA platform. The live webinar is the qualifying educational activity; the platform assessment serves as a competency verification step.
These requirements exist to ensure that all active credential holders demonstrate continued professional competency in accordance with IBBFA credentialing standards.
5. 14-DAY SATISFACTION WINDOW AND REFUND POLICY
a. Certified Barre Instructor (CBI)
You may request a full refund within 14 days of your enrollment date, provided you have not submitted your Capstone assessment (Unit 9). Once your Capstone is submitted, or the 14-day satisfaction window has closed — whichever occurs first — no refund will be issued.
b. Non-Refundable Programs
The following programs and services are not eligible for refunds under any circumstances:
- Specialty Certifications (all four specialties)
- Principal Instructor program
- Master Instructor program
- Annual Registry Maintenance ($99/year)
c. Repurchase After Refund
If you request a refund and later wish to re-enroll in the same program, you will be required to pay the full published price at the time of re-enrollment. No discounts, promotional pricing, payment plans, or satisfaction windows will be available on repurchases following a prior refund.
d. How to Request a Refund
Submit your refund request by contacting us at [email protected] or by calling +1 602-755-8995. Approved refunds are processed within two (2) business days and returned to your original payment method. Please note that payment processing fees are non-refundable and are not included in the refunded amount.
6. COURSE ACCESS
- CBI and Specialty Certifications: 12 months of course access from your enrollment date
- Principal Instructor: 24 months of course access from your enrollment date
Course access periods are not paused or extended. If you require accommodations due to documented medical or emergency circumstances, please contact us at [email protected].
7. CREDENTIAL MAINTENANCE
Active credential status requires payment of the Annual Registry Maintenance fee ($99/year) and completion of the continuing professional development requirement described in Section 4. Non-payment or failure to fulfill the continuing education requirement will result in your credential moving to lapsed status and your removal from the public IBBFA Instructor Directory at ibbfa.org. Lapsed credentials may be reactivated at any time by paying the current annual registry maintenance fee and fulfilling the applicable requirement. Your original certification date is preserved upon reactivation.
8. EXAMINATION POLICY
All IBBFA certifications require successful completion of:
- Written examination: 60 questions drawn from a 300-question bank across competency domains; no two exams are identical; 70% passing threshold (42/60 correct required)
- Practical evaluation: Satisfactory rating from an IBBFA Master Instructor or IBBFA Proctor
Examination retakes are available for a $99 fee per component, subject to a mandatory 30-day waiting period between attempts.
9. COMPLIANCE AND CONDUCT
By enrolling in any IBBFA program, you agree to:
- Use course materials solely for your personal, non-commercial professional development
- Not reproduce, share, distribute, or resell any course content, assessments, or examination questions in any form
- Represent your credential level accurately to employers, studios, and the public
- Uphold the IBBFA Code of Ethics in all professional activities
Violation of any of the above obligations may result in immediate account termination, revocation of any earned credentials, and permanent removal from the IBBFA Instructor Directory. No refund will be issued upon termination for cause.
10. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY
All course materials, assessments, examination content, videos, curriculum, branding, and platform content are the exclusive property of the International Ballet Barre Fitness Association. Unauthorized reproduction, distribution, resale, or commercial use is strictly prohibited and may result in legal action.
11. MANDATORY ARBITRATION
Any dispute, claim, or controversy arising out of or relating to these Terms or your use of IBBFA Services shall be resolved exclusively through binding arbitration. By agreeing to these Terms, you waive any right to pursue claims in court, including the right to a jury trial. Arbitration will be conducted under the rules of the American Arbitration Association (AAA). This clause does not prevent either party from seeking emergency injunctive relief in a court of competent jurisdiction where necessary to prevent irreparable harm.
12. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, IBBFA shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of our Services, including but not limited to loss of income, loss of data, or professional consequences resulting from the use or inability to use our programs.
