The International Ballet Barre Fitness Association ("IBBFA," "we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting your personal information. By using our Services, you accept the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

We receive and securely store information you supply when enrolling in or using our Services. This may include:

- Professional background, prior certifications, and location provided during registration
- Assessment submissions, quiz responses, and practical examination records
- Webinar attendance records collected in connection with Annual Registry Maintenance requirements
- Written competency assessment submissions completed in connection with Annual Registry Maintenance requirements
- Communications you send to IBBFA via email, phone, or support channels
B. Information Collected Automatically
We automatically receive certain information when you access our Platform, including:
- Usage data, browser type, IP address, and device information collected through our platform provider (Thinkific) and analytics tools (Google Analytics)
- Payment transaction data processed by our payment processor (Thinkific Payments, powered by Stripe)
- Cookie and tracking data as described in Section IV below
II. HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION
We use your information to:
- Process enrollments, payments, and course access
- Issue, maintain, and publicly verify IBBFA credentials
- Record and verify completion of Annual Registry Maintenance continuing professional development requirements, including live webinar attendance and assessment results
- Maintain your listing in the IBBFA Instructor Registry (ibbfa.org/directory/)
- Communicate with you regarding your enrollment, credential status, continuing education requirements, and IBBFA updates
- Send carefully selected program-related communications; you may opt out at any time by contacting us
- Comply with legal and tax obligations
- Improve our programs and platform experience
III. PUBLIC REGISTRY INFORMATION
Upon earning an IBBFA credential, the following information will be published in the publicly accessible IBBFA Instructor Registry at ibbfa.org:
- Full name
- Credential level(s) and specialty designations earned
- City and country (not full street address)
- Active or lapsed credential status
This information is published to enable employers, studios, and the public to verify instructor credentials — a core function of IBBFA's role as a credentialing authority. You may request removal from the public registry by contacting [email protected]. Please note that IBBFA may retain credential records to preserve registry integrity even following a removal request.
IV. COOKIES AND TRACKING
Our Platform uses cookies and similar tracking technologies to support platform functionality, authentication, and analytics. The types of cookies used include:
Strictly Necessary Cookies — Essential for platform navigation and core features including enrollment and course access.
Performance Cookies — Collect anonymized data about how the platform is used to help us improve the experience. No personally identifiable information is collected.

IBBFA does not sell your personal information. We only share your information with the following categories of service providers who assist us in operating our platform and Services:
- Thinkific — platform hosting and payment processing (subject to Thinkific's Privacy Policy)
- Stripe — payment processing infrastructure (subject to Stripe's Privacy Policy)
- Avalara — sales tax calculation and remittance
- Google Analytics — anonymized usage analysis
- Legal or regulatory authorities, where required by applicable law
We will only share customer information with entities that have agreed to be bound by appropriate confidentiality and data protection obligations. We do not share personally identifiable information with third-party advertisers.
We may disclose your information if we believe it is necessary to: (1) comply with applicable law or legal process; (2) protect and defend the rights or property of IBBFA or our users; or (3) protect the personal safety of our users or the public. In the event of a sale or transfer of IBBFA to another entity, customer information may be included as part of that transaction.
VI. DATA RETENTION
We retain your enrollment records, examination results, webinar attendance records, assessment completion records, and credential history as part of our credential registry. This data is retained indefinitely to support credential verification and registry integrity — consistent with IBBFA's obligations as a professional credentialing authority.
IBBFA will keep written records of correspondence, written assessments, practical examinations, webinar attendance logs, final evaluations, and all other pertinent certification data for a minimum of five (5) years in accordance with credentialing standards.
Payment information is retained only as required for tax and financial compliance. You may request deletion of personal data by contacting us; please note that credential and attendance records may be retained to preserve the integrity of the public registry.
VII. YOUR RIGHTS
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal information IBBFA holds about you
- Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information
- Request deletion of your personal data (subject to legal and registry obligations)
- Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent
- Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority

VIII. CHILDREN'S PRIVACY
Our Services are intended exclusively for individuals 18 years of age and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18. If we become aware that a child under 18 has provided us with personal information, we will take steps to delete such information promptly.

IBBFA implements reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, disclosure, or misuse. Our platform data is stored on secure, redundant networks with appropriate security protections. However, no method of transmission over the internet is completely secure. X. INTERNATIONAL DATA TRANSFERS
IBBFA is incorporated in the United States and headquartered in Nevada (operating as Discover True You, Inc.). Your information is processed and stored in the United States and in other countries where our service providers (including Thinkific and Stripe) operate. If you are located outside the United States — including Canada, the United Kingdom, the European Union, or elsewhere — your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States, which may have different data protection laws than your home country. By using our Services, you acknowledge and consent to this transfer.
XI. UPDATES TO THIS POLICY
IBBFA reserves the right to update this Privacy Policy at any time. Changes take effect immediately upon posting. The "Last Updated" date at the top of this page reflects when the policy was most recently revised. By continuing to use our Services following any update, you agree to the revised policy. If you do not agree with the updated terms, please discontinue use of our Services.
